Name/History:
The school opened in 1918 as Loveland High School. It became Bill Reed after
the present Loveland High School opened in 1964. Bill Reed was a teacher,
coach and Army general.
Mission Statement: The Bill Reed Middle School community
of staff, students, and parents strive to provide students with:
- quality and equity in meaningful
academic success
- maximized learning
- confidence in their capabilities,
and
- preparation for their future
in the 21st Century
Belief Statement: Winning is not about beating someone or
being better than someone else. Winning is about trying your hardest to do
your best. Bill Reed is a school of winners.
Special Programs:
High activity in athletics and activities including Drama Club; MESA (Mathematics,
Engineering and Science Achievement) Club; special activities such as skate
parties, pizza parties, etc.; creating career profiles; climbing wall; Odyssey
of the Mind team; National History Day competition; the Academic Challenge
Program; and Pride Tribe (involves a majority of students as well as our Honors
Graduates).
Parent Involvement:
The Bill Reed Accountability Commitee meets the second Tuesday of each month.
Bill Reed also has many parent and non-parent volunteers.
Student Activities:
Athletics, drama and numerous social activities.
