Name and History: Our school was built in 1976 during the state's centennial and the nation's bicentennial, thus the name.
Mission Statement: To foster a healthy self-concept for each child, to provide opportunities for academic excellence, and to help each child become an independent, responsible individual.
Special Programs: Reading, Resource, Speech/Therapy, Gifted and Talented, Occupational Therapy, Community Educator.
Parent Involvement: A strong PTO and Accountability Committee are two of the many activities led by a very active volunteer program. Shawn Cooperider and Kim Smith are Co- PTO Presidents for 09-10. You can leave a message for them at 613-5800.
Student Activities: Student Council, Jump Rope Club, Scouting, First Friends, Garden Club and GEMS Learning Fairs (Gender Equity in Math and Science).
