WHY IT WORKS

Book Trust works because the children themselves are the changemakers.

The opportunity to 'go shopping' for books every month leverages personal choice and ownership where those opportunities are significant motivators for increased reading and academic achievement.

HOW IT WORKs

Each month, participating children choose and purchase up to three books. We use eligibility for the free/reduced lunch program as our loose guideline, and Book Trust operates seamlessly and invisibly in classrooms.

Each eligible child has up to $7 to spend each month. At home, children select the books they want and return their orders to school.

For every dollar their students spend, each teacher accrues Scholastic bonus points redeemed to bring additional books and resources into their classrooms.
